NAPA EPD Tool
We are the first company in Indiana to publish an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for an asphalt mix using the National Asphalt Pavement Association’s verified EPD tool. By quantifying the environmental impact of our mix, we provide environmentally-conscious customers a clear understanding of the green benefits provided by Brooks Construction.
Recycled Asphalt
We take pride in our ability to manufacture quality asphalt with a high percentage of recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and have led jobs for both cold central plant and cold in-place recycled material.
Recycled Concrete
We often utilize recycled concrete for aggregate base on commercial paving projects allowing us to be environmentally conscience and even pass cost savings on to our customers while reducing landfill usage.
Landfill Waste Gas
We were the first local company to take advantage of landfill waste gases to help power our Fort Wayne asphalt plant on Ardmore. We continue looking for innovative, safe, and effective ways to power our facilities.
Steel Slag
We use Steel slag, a by-product of nearby steel mills, in combination with traditional RAP and a small percentage of virgin binder to produce a very high quality, long lasting and great looking surface for our customers.
Recycled Shingles and Materials
We have used processed shingles, rubber and glass to reduce the consumption of finite virgin natural resources as well as reduce our reliance on foreign oil. Again, showing our commitment to long term sustainability.
Lower Energy Use
We produce warm and cold asphalt mixes which significantly lower our energy consumption as well as plant emissions. These products can be used off season or in instances where project have a greater travel time.
